As a photographer, Riccardo Bianchini is known primarily for his images of contemporary architecture and art, which have been featured in leading publications, including The Guardian, The New York Times, Wired, Slate, Vogue, El Pais, Architectural Record, Architectural Digest, La Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, Casabella, Interni, Abitare, and Domus, and have appeared in exhibitions and art catalogs at Tate Modern, Serpentine Galleries, and the Royal Institute of British Architects in London, the Maxxi museum in Rome, the Mucem Museum in Marseille, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. His clients include Zaha Hadid Architects, Vo Trong Nghia Architects, and Stefano Boeri Architetti.
In his photos, Riccardo depicts places and buildings as if they were living creatures, capturing their soul by investigating their less obvious aspects or revealing the fascinating interplay between architecture and people.
Riccardo Bianchini also conducts personal research on plant and botanical photography; in this particular field, he creates limited-edition photographic prints using an entomologist’s approach.
Born in 1966 in Cremona, Italy, Riccardo Bianchini got a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Genoa in 1992. In 2000, he co-founded the award-winning architectural practice Bianchini & Lusiardi Associati. Since 2014, he is also editor-in-chief of the digital magazine of art and design Inexhibit.com.
